SM House Cleaning — Terms of Service

1. Introduction and Agreement

SM House Cleaning ("we," "us," "our," or "Owner") is a residential cleaning service based in Bloomington, Minnesota. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website at smhousecleaning.com and any service request, booking, or cleaning appointment made with us.

By using our website, submitting an inquiry, or scheduling a cleaning service, you ("Client," "you," or "your") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.


2. Eligibility

AGE REQUIREMENT: You must be at least 18 years of age to request or book a cleaning service with SM House Cleaning. By completing a booking, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

We reserve the right to refuse service to any person at our sole discretion, including but not limited to persons who provide false information or whose requested service raises safety or legal concerns.


3. Service Requests and Bookings

3.1 Booking Process

Service requests may be made through our website at smhousecleaning.com or by contacting us directly at (952) 521-1777 or [email protected]. A booking is not confirmed until you have received written or verbal confirmation from SM House Cleaning.

3.2 Booking Information Accuracy

By completing a service request, you represent that all information provided — including your address, number of bedrooms, type of service, and contact details — is accurate and complete. Providing false or misleading information is grounds for immediate cancellation of your booking.

3.3 Service Areas

SM House Cleaning provides residential cleaning services in Bloomington, Richfield, Edina, Burnsville, Eagan, Mendota Heights, Nokomis, Powderhorn, and parts of South Minneapolis. Service requests outside these areas may be declined at our discretion.


4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Rates

Pricing varies based on the size of your home, type of service, and cleaning frequency. A personalized quote will be provided before your first appointment. By confirming your booking, you agree to the quoted rate.

4.2 New Client Fee

A one-time new client fee may apply to your first cleaning appointment. This fee covers the additional time required for an initial deep clean of a home that has not previously been serviced by SM House Cleaning.

4.3 Payment

Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. SM House Cleaning reserves the right to require payment prior to or at the time of service.


5. Cancellation Policy

5.1 Client Cancellations

We ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

5.2 SM House Cleaning Cancellations

In the event that SM House Cleaning must cancel a confirmed appointment, we will notify you as soon as possible and make every reasonable effort to reschedule at a time that is convenient for you.

5.3 Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for cancellation or non-performance resulting from circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, or public health emergencies.


6. Service Standards and Client Responsibilities

6.1 Access to Property

By booking a cleaning service, you authorize SM House Cleaning staff to access your home at the agreed appointment time. You are responsible for providing safe and unobstructed access to all areas to be cleaned.

6.2 Securing Valuables

SM House Cleaning is not responsible for the loss or damage of unsecured valuables, cash, jewelry, or personal items. We recommend securing all valuables before your appointment.

6.3 Pets

Please inform us of any pets in your home prior to your appointment. We ask that pets be secured or kept away from cleaning areas during the service to ensure the safety of both your pet and our staff.

6.4 Satisfaction Guarantee

Your satisfaction is our priority. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of your cleaning service, please contact us within 24 hours and we will make it right at no additional charge.


7. Damages and Liability

7.1 Damage Claims

If you believe SM House Cleaning has caused damage to your property during a service, please notify us in writing within 24 hours of the appointment. We will investigate all damage claims and respond promptly.

7.2 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SM House Cleaning's total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for the applicable service.

7.3 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SM House Cleaning, its owner, staff, and representatives from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.


8. SMS Messaging — A2P 10DLC Compliance

SMS CONSENT: By providing your mobile phone number in connection with a booking or inquiry, you expressly consent to receive SMS text messages from SM House Cleaning related to your appointment. Consent to receive SMS messages is NOT a condition of booking. Message and data rates may apply.

8.1 Types of SMS Messages

With your consent, SM House Cleaning may send the following types of SMS messages:

Booking confirmations, reminders, and updates

Appointment notifications and schedule changes

Post-service follow-up and review requests

Responses to inquiries you initiate

8.2 Opt-Out

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to (952) 521-1777. After sending STOP you will receive one confirmation message and will be unsubscribed. To re-subscribe, reply START or contact us directly.

8.3 Help

8.4 No Third-Party Sharing

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data will never be shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party for marketing purposes. This restriction is absolute. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8.5 Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply for messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies based on your service interactions and appointment schedule. For questions about your text plan or data plan, contact your wireless provider.


9. Website Use and Intellectual Property

9.1 Permitted Use

You may use our website solely for the purpose of requesting or managing a cleaning service and obtaining information about our services. Any other use, including automated data collection or redistribution of content, is strictly prohibited.

9.2 Intellectual Property

All content on smhousecleaning.com, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of SM House Cleaning and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.


10. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at smhousecleaning.com/privacy-policy. By using our website or booking a service, you acknowledge and consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.


11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

11.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict of law principles.

11.2 Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your service with SM House Cleaning, the parties agree to attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith negotiation before pursuing any formal legal action.

11.3 Jurisdiction

Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought in the courts of the State of Minnesota. Both parties hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.


12. General Provisions

12.1 Entire Agreement These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any written booking confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and SM House Cleaning with respect to your use of our services.

12.2 Severability If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

12.3 Modifications SM House Cleaning reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. Your continued use of our services following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.
